Cheryl A. McKechnie (nee Hartwick) passed away peacefully at her home in Palmer, Alaska, on January 25th, 2025. She was born on June 21st, 1943, in Crossett, Arkansas, to the late Ernestine Page and Charles Hartwick. She was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis J. Miller.
In 1963, Cheryl married her beloved husband, Russell Mckechnie of Palmer, and together they built a life filled with love and family. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Ciofani (and husband Edward Ciofani) and Lonnie McKechnie, her granddaughters, Jourdan Hunt and Taylor McKechnie, and cherished great grandchildren Kori Ann, Hayden, and Rylie.
Cheryl retired from Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union after many years of dedicated service, where she formed lifelong friendships and touched the lives of many.
Cheryl found joy in the company of her many friends and family, especially her great grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness. She loved bowling, gaming, and sharing laughter with those closest to her. She was known for her spirited nature, strength, and elegance. Cheryl was the heart of her family, and a dear friend to many.
She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Palmer Moose on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 3-6 pm.
