Charlie Outlaw was born July 29, 1933 to the late Helen Outlaw-Holley and Edward Holley. He was called to his eternal rest on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Charlie attended Edenton, NC public schools where he played softball. In 1952 he married Georgia Rebecca Perry (aka his bride). They were happily married for 66 years prior to her death. From this union five children were born, sadly his son Tommy preceded him in death. They moved from North Carolina to Philadelphia, PA, and then relocated to New Jersey in the 1960's.
Charlies worked at Greg Beauty Supply in Roselle for many years until he retired. He retired and then he became a school bus driver.
In 1997, after his retirement as a school bus driver he joined New Hope Batist Church in East Orange. He became an usher and joined other boards and he remained an acting member of the church.
Charlie "O" loved bowling, umpired for many years, loved his jazz, and enjoyed family gatherings. Charlie enjoyed westerns, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, his favorite team and the NY Mets. He also was a member of St. John's Masonic Lodge, East Orange, NJ.
In 2021 Charlie moved to Chester, VA to live with his daughter Sharon after his health began to decline. While in Chester he received excellent care from his four children until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his wife Georgia Outlaw; siblings Ann Blanchard, Alice Holley, Marion Holley and Steven Holley.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his children Charlie Joseph Outlaw, Jr., Lorene Johnson, Dorene Williams, Sharon Parrish; one son-in-law Kevin Parrish; one sister Lillie B. White; two brother in laws Thomas White and Lewis ;14 grandchildren: Terry (Simone), Chameka, Fareedah, Malika, Shakeea, Asia (Darnell), Steven, Aleisha, Geno, Jasmine, Chris, Trevon, Connie, Candi; 44 Great Grandchildren; 14 Great-Great Grandchildren; four nieces Tammy, Melody, Lynn, Asia Que and one nephew Rodrick. Cousin Freddie Blanchard, best friend, Prenis Brooks and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
