Charles Newman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home - Hammond on Mar. 21, 2025.
Chuck, age 62, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at his home in Tickfaw, LA. Chuck was a hard worker who dedicated many years as a plumber. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. Chuck and his family spent many a day at the dirt track racing cars or going for rides on his Harley. He adored his family, and his life became all about spending as much time with them as he could. In the past few years, Chuck and his family have gone to festivals, Crusin the Coast, parties, and taken trips to the casino. He has created countless wonderful memories with his family that will last a lifetime. Chuck was known throughout his community as an amazing man that would strike up a conversation with anyone. You could often find him at the Tickfaw Truckstop, out front, with a cup of coffee in his hand. He would greet you when you walked up, and when you left you had a new friend. Chuck was one of the strongest men you could meet with a huge heart. He loved his family fiercely and left behind an irreplaceable legacy. Chuck will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rhonda Marie Ogima Newman; daughters, Kacey Newman Vizcaya (Jose), Heather Lynn Newman; son (brother-in-law raised as his child), Brian Foret Jr. (Sherry); brother, Derek Wayne Newman (Melanie); and grandchildren, Jordan, Jasmine, Kingston, Khamille, Lilliana, Brian, Brayden, and Mallory.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Charles Newman Sr.; sister, Debbie Ann Rogers; both sets of grandparents; and mother-in-law, Gloria Foret.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 12012 Hwy 190 W Hammond, LA 70401 on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 4:00 p.m.
