Mr. Charles Ray Myers, age 83 of Madison, Indiana and formerly of Mishawaka, Indiana, entered this life on July 27, 1941 in Mishawaka. He was the loving son of the late August and Mary E. Hudkins Myers. Raised in Mishawaka, Charles graduated in 1961 from Mishawaka High School. He was inducted into the United States Army in 1963 and rose to the rate of Private First Class during the Vietnam Era, serving in West Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1965. He was very proud of his service and loved his family's military legacy with his father and his brothers, serving from WWI through Vietnam. On July 10, 1965, he was united in marriage to Laura Ann McLeod in Mishawaka. This happy union of 55 years was blessed with a son, Stephen, and a daughter, Sherry. He worked for over 35 years as a lineman for AT&T (Indiana Bell) in Mishawaka, South Bend and Michigan City. He resided in Michigan City from 1966-1990 and moved to Mishawaka in 1989, living there until he moved to Madison in 2024 to be near his family. He was a member of the Pioneers Club and was very proud to have been on the Indy Honor Flight. Charles was very patriotic at heart. He had a special love for the outdoors. He enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels and loved traveling. He had visited all 50 states and several different countries.
