Catherine P. (Flyntz) Schwartz, 57, of Sterling, CT, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. She was the wife of Eric Schwartz Jr.
Born on November 17, 1967, in Virginia Beach, VA, Cathy was the daughter of Ann M. (Dawson) Flyntz and the late James F. Flyntz. She deeply mourned the loss of her father in 2021 and can now find comfort in their Heavenly reunion. Cathy grew up in a home filled with faith and love as one of nine children in a devout Catholic family. Her upbringing instilled in her a deep and abiding connection to her faith and family, which remained central to her life.
Cathy was the connective tissue that held her family together. A loving wife, a passionate mother, a doting grandmother, a steadfast sister, a caring Aunt, a wonderful daughter, and a genuine friend. She lived in a day more than most in a lifetime, she spoke her mind without reservation, and loved harder than most could imagine. Her energy was boundless, her laughter infectious, her soul was filled with the light of God's love. She danced like no one was watching, and she repeatedly over-bid in High Low Jack because she had a good "feeling" about this one. Her presence was intoxicating, invigorating and it gave strength to all those around her. She shared her love of life with everyone she met. She was the sunbeam that breaks through the clouds.
Cathy is survived by her husband Eric Schwartz Jr. of Sterling, CT; three daughters, Brianna Factor (Joshua) of
West Warwick, RI, Tayla Morin (Matthew) of Waterford, CT and Kimberly Schwartz of Sterling, CT. Affectionately known as Grammy, Cathy adored her grandchildren-Henry, Liam, Kirk, and Willow-who brought her endless happiness. Cathy is survived by her siblings: Rosemarie Carlson (Jeff) of Coventry, RI; James Flyntz (Pamela) of North Smithfield, RI; Mary Ellen Rossi (Michael) of Exeter; Timothy Flyntz (Christine) of
West Warwick, RI; Theresa Kuprevich (John) of West Greenwich, RI; Christine Corey (Mike) of Plainfield, CT; and Patricia Croft (Andrew) of New Jersey. She is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, James Flyntz, and her brother, Daniel Flyntz.
