LANCASTER, SC ~ Carol Jean Hicks was born on December 21, 1939, in Belfry Kentucky to Mary Combs. She lived a long vibrant life with family and friends. She went to her heavenly home on February 20, 2025, at the age of 85.
Carol met her high school sweetheart Darl Hicks in Muncie, IN. They married December 1, 1956, in West Lafayette, IN. Carol is survived by her husband Darl; her brother James Combs (Donna), her daughters Lynn Celarek (Bob) and Deb Atha; her son Ken Hicks (Missy); her grandchildren Mike Fultz (Layla), John Fultz (Trisha), Clayton Davies (Tasha), Joe Atha (Christina), Elizabeth Atha (Spencer), Kelly Hendel (Matt) and Jack Hicks (Nina). Her great grandchildren; Raylan and Marshall Fultz, Emily and Isabella Davies, Aryonna Fultz, Gabriel, River, Thaddeus and Miriam Atha, Lucas, Hazel and Orion Atha-Minier.
Darl and Carol lived 45 years in Mulberry IN, raising their children and where Carol retired as an Office Administrator from the Mulberry Lutheran Home in 1992. She enjoyed growing a beautiful garden, taking care of her family and supporting her church. She and Darl relocated to the Carolinas in 2015 to enjoy their retirement.

The service to celebrate Carol's life will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 3:00pm at Osceola United Methodist Church (6575 Charlotte Highway (521), Lancaster, SC 29720). Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:30pm.
