Carl Felton Walker, 81, of Griffin, died peacefully at his residence on Friday, January 23, 2026.
Mr. Walker was born in the Sugar Hill community of Meriwether county on June 11, 1944. He was the oldest of seven children born to Carl Webster Walker and Amy Louise McGraw Walker. He was raised in Meriwether county before moving to Griffin where he lived the rest of his life. He first retired as shop foreman for Thomaston Mills with over thirty years of dedicated service. He then retired from the Spalding County School System as an HVAC maintenance technician. Best known to all as "Felton", he was a hardworking and humble man who always saw the good in everyone he met. He was a lifelong member of New Friendship Baptist Church and a devoted Christian who loved his Lord. Above all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. His greatest joy was caring for and loving his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He gave every bit of his love and devotion to them. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Lamar "Mott" Walker, Johnny Walker, Rickey Walker, Jackie W. Storey, and Ronald Preston Walker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marie Walker of
Griffin, GA; children, Chris (Melissa) Walker and Mark (Deanna) Polk both of
Griffin, GA and Patti Polk of Tallulah Falls, GA; grandchildren, Chandler Walker, Maci Walker, Anson Link, Carlise Link, and Ryleigh Walker; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Nash, Ella, Ace, Alex, and Blake; sister, Patricia Page of Warm Springs, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2026 in the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Hosmer and Rev. Scotty Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the New Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Felton's memory to New Friendship Baptist Church.
