Billy Dowdy Obituary

Billy Jack Dowdy, age 74, of Manhattan, died March 3, 2025, in Manhattan.
He was born on March 3, 1951, in Upton, Wyoming, the son of Jack and Rue Dowdy. Billy graduated high school in Upton with the class of 1969.
After high school he serviced in the United States Army. He earned many medals and ribbons during his service time. He served in Korea and in Vietnam. Billy retired with the rank of CW3.
He was immensely proud of his service in the Army and loved building his life in Manhattan.
Billy Jack was united in marriage to Cindy McAllister on August 21, 1982, in El Paso, Texas. This union was blessed with their son, Christopher. She preceded him in death in 2016.
BJ is survived by his son Chris Dowdy (Jessica Dworshak); his sister Barbara Reihman (Bill); and his many other family and friends who will miss him.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1:00p.m. Thursday March 13, 2025, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Riley in Manhattan.
