George Green Obituary

Graveside services for Mr. George Pleaon Green will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, DeRidder, with Reverend Jeff James officiating, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Green, 96, of Ten Mile, entered eternal rest on Monday, January 19, 2026, at DeRidder Retirement and Rehabilitation Center, DeRidder, LA.
A loving father and grandfather, he treasured time with his family. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force for over twenty years, retiring as a Master Sergeant, and served in Germany during the Berlin Airlift. He loved traveling in his RV and had a true "green thumb," growing every vegetable imaginable. A gifted storyteller, he brought the past to life with humor and voice impressions, and each evening you could find him enjoying Jeopardy! He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Valerie B. Green; his parents, Eric and Sevella Green; one sister, Druella Smith; and one son-in-law, Horace Warren.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include one son, Kevin Green (Massena) of Ten Mile; two daughters, Karen Green of Punta Gorda, Florida, and Mandy West of Ten Mile; three grandchildren, Dustin Warren (Chelsie), Amy Hammatt (Blake), and Paige Cloud (Carl); and ten great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Dustin Warren, Carl Cloud, Eric Thompson, Daulton Thompson, Tyler LaFauci, and Nathan Doyle. Honorary pallbearers will be Aiden Bamburg, Case Webb, Tate Cloud, Easton Thompson, Miles Maricle, Welles LaFauci, and Wendall West.
