James Wilkerson Obituary

James D. (Jim) Wilkerson, 76, passed away on December 8, 2025, at home in Bradenton, Florida.

Born on January 19, 1949, Jim proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, where he was a B-52 Crew Chief. Following his military service, he built a diverse and accomplished career. He worked as a Finance Manager for auto dealerships and later served as a Materials Manager for Diamond Offshore, with assignments that took him to oil rigs in Brazil and Singapore.

Jim found joy in playing the guitar and ukulele, mowing the lawn on his John Deere, and loved Cajun cuisine. Known for his warm spirit, Jim was a wonderful husband and a good friend to many.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Diana, brother Roger, brother-in-law Douglas (Laura) Wolford. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gordon.

A burial service will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery to honor his life and military service.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

I'll miss you, Uncle Jim. Not just an uncle, my Godfather, and my father's best friend too. Please give my Dad another big hug, but from me. See y'all on the otherside.

Jim was my dear friend Diana's husband. He was a good man, kind, funny thoughtful. He was dearest husband and Diana's best friend. Their life together was the stuff you usually only see in the movies. My heart and love go out to her.
