Dayton Lister, Jr. Obituary

Dayton Lister, Jr. 96, of Fairmont passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in Fairmont. He was born in Clarksburg on September18, 1928 a son of the late Dayton and Ruth Ice Lister, Sr.

He was a loving father, husband and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed sports and was a fan of the WVU Mountaineers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dayton most enjoyed his time spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by five children Roy Lister and his wife Lisa of Fairmont, Dionne Moyers and her husband Chuck of Alaska, Richard Wayne Lister and his wife Jane of Alaska, Jack Frost and his wife Angie of Fairmont, and Allen Frost and his wife Sandi of Georgia; grandchildren Jack Frost III and his wife Alicia of Fairview, Wyatt Frost of Fairview, Winter Frost-Roundtree and her husband Josh of Georgia, Dustin Lister of Clarksburg, Krystle Diamond and her husband Jimmy of Georgia, Scott Lister of Fairmont, Matt Lister and his wife Melissa of Fairmont, Jason Lister and his wife Jennie of Rivesville, R.J. Lister of Alaska, Eric Evick of Charleston, Linnsey Amores and her husband Jon of Richmond, Virginia; great grandchildren Emily Frost, Kaylee Frost, Madison Frost, Benjamin Frost, Mariah Hamrick, Nolen Roundtree, West Roundtree, Mason Diamond, Jack Diamon, Ozzy Lister, Reed Lister, Grant Lister, MiKenna Lister, Mason Lister, Cassiano Amores, and Amelia Amores.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two loving wives Rose Mary Hale Lister and Anna May Webb Lister; and one son Dayton Michael Lister.

In keeping with his wishes Dayton will be cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date. Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home are honored to be assisting the family with these services.
