Audrey Clara Washington, aged 93, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on October 20, 2024. Born on March 17, 1931, in Cleveland, Ohio, she attended Holy Name High School in her hometown.
Audrey was known for her love of reading, with interests spanning from archeology to history, and she enjoyed mysteries and romance novels. Her passion for the outdoors was evident in her frequent hikes through the Cleveland Metroparks, a practice she continued for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Snow (Skip), Trudy McQuiddy (Mike), and Patti Grams (Norm); grandchildren Jennifer Cangey Ference, Curt Cangey, Cory McQuiddy, Jill McQuiddy Powell, Ashley Grams Latham, Ben Snow, and Elizabeth Snow (Jesse Hunter); and great-grandchildren Dominic Ference, Colton Ference, Reece Powell, Brooklyn Powell, Savannah Latham, Makenzi Latham, Makayla Latham, Cedar McQuiddy, Summit McQuiddy, Parker McQuiddy, and Tallulah Snow-Hunter. Audrey was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Cangey, Phil Cangey, Norm Grams, and great-grandson William Snow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Audrey can be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606, where she received care in her final days. Audrey's life was marked by her intellectual curiosity, her love for nature, and the deep connections she forged with her family and friends. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
