Anthony Charles Smith, Master of Ceremonies:
Mr. Anthony Charles Smith passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, transitioning peacefully at his home in Lancaster, California. He was 73 years old. Anthony was a longtime resident of Lancaster, California. He was born March 3, 1952, in Amite, Louisiana, and raised in New Orleans until he migrated to California and lived in the county of Los Angeles, California for over 30 years.
Beloved son of the late Lettie Mae Vernon and the late Otis Smith, collectively parenting with the late Clarence Odell Vernon and the late Dorothy Mae Vernon. Anthony is survived by his sister, Janice, and his brothers Tyrone and Jeffery. His longtime wife and friend Mrs. Ellen, his sons Michael, Benoit, and Lil Michael, his son-in-law Chris and his daughters Jayda, Felicia, Diamond, Starr, and Aja, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a multitude of family and friends. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and siblings Lloyd, Michael, Donald Ray, and Ruthie.
Anthony attended school in New Orleans, Louisiana at Walter L Cohen High School where he embraced the role of a drum major leading the band with confidence and endurance, setting an example for the band members and the audience, and ensuring the band performed at its highest level in his junior and senior year of high school. Tony also worked towards an associate in the art of music at Antelope Valley College in the city of Lancaster, California. This famous Master of Ceremonies also embraced his first small role in the film J. D's Revenge (1976) and has made a name for himself in the music industry with countless accolades that represents recognition, validation, and inspiration.
Anthony joined Faith and Hope Community Church in 2018 located at 344 W Florence Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90003 California; under the tutelage of Pastor LaVelle Gates. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend Memorial Services at 10:00 AM at Halley Olsen Murphy Funerals & Cremations, 44831 Cedar Ave, Lancaster, CA 93534, on Friday, March 21, 2025. The funeral visitation, releasing of doves and Repast will also be held at the same location.
