.Annabelle Mary Osborne of South Bend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 95 years old. Annabelle was born on April 11, 1929, in Walkerton, Indiana, to the late JB and Bertha (Devine) Williams.
A resident of South Bend since 2011, Annabelle moved here from McPherson, Kansas, where she had spent much of her life. In 1977, she married the late George Osborne at the Free Methodist Church in McPherson. Annabelle was a past member of the MOOSE Lodge in South Bend and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Kansas.
Known for her talents as a seamstress, Annabelle was also passionate about cooking and canning. Her love for family was shown through her homemade treats and her unbeatable skills at euchre. She enjoyed visits from family, often sharing meals she had lovingly prepared and playing card games. Annabelle also took pride in maintaining an immaculate home and helped George on the family farm, cooking for the farmhands. Her strong work ethic was something she instilled in everyone she encountered.
A true fan of Notre Dame Women's Basketball, Annabelle was often seen cheering on her favorite team. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
Annabelle is survived by her daughters Christine (Joe) Lauderback, Rebecca Wiand (and family), Debbie Powers, Jacqueline Whitchurch, and Ellen Farkas; three grandchildren, Rhonda (Jeff) McGhee, Tyler Whitchurch, and Haley (Quincie McCray) Whitchurch, along with several other grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Abbigail McGhee and Addison Whitchurch-Smith, and several other great-grandchildren; her loving pet, Lucky Lou-Lou; one sister, Emilie Kollar; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bernard "Berdell" Williams, George Williams, and Roy Williams; three sisters, Henrietta Hove, Hulda Ross, and Maxine Hostetler; and the father of her children, Hershel "Pete" Powers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM EST on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Visitation will take place one hour before the service, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton.
Annabelle's family requests that memorial contributions be made in her honor to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished by her family and friends.
