Anna Ruhland Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, for Anna Mae Ruhland,90, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Calcutta House in Lafayette, Louisiana, with two of her granddaughters, Elyse and Chelsea, by her side.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held at the Matthews Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A The rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Anna was preceded in death by her great-grandson Brayden O'Bannion; her five brothers and seven sisters; her parents, Henri and Henrietta Marie Fontenot, as well as many beloved pets.
She is survived by her two daughters, Daneé Ruhland and Sandi (Ray Lynn) O'Bannion; and her grandchildren and their families: Gabrielle Elyse (Jareth) Striker and their son Oliver; Chelsea (Stan) Guidry; Jessica (Roman) Russell and their daughters Alexa, Addison, and Ella; and Sean O'Bannion and his son Stetson.
Anna's favorite pastime was visiting with family on the porch or lawn of her childhood home, while enjoying nice weather. She loved her pets, her children, and all of her grandchildren especially. She loved the Church and spending time at the Perpetual Adoration Chapel.
