Ann Marie (Todd) Reid, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Warwick, Rhode Island, on Sunday, March 16, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Born in Providence, she was one of four children born to the late Norman and Gertrude (Tetreault) Todd.
Ann Marie was married to the love of her life, Andrew J. Reid III, for 64 years until his passing in January of 2025 and together they raised six children. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Andrew and Pat Reid, Todd and Liliana Reid, Michael and Brit Reid, Thomas Reid, Ann Marie and Ernie Painter, and Erin Christy. Her legacy as 'Grammy' continues through her 14 grandchildren-Caitlyn, Michael, Andres, Stephen, Timothy, Todd, Michelle, Jessica, Gabrielle, Drew, Matthew, Amanda, David, and Emily-and 10 great-grandchildren: Stephen, Ava, Alicja, Anthony, Antonia, Jorge, Waverly, Daphne, Andres, Todd, and Penny.
Ann Marie is also survived by her sister, Joan Duchesneau. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Elaine Angell, and her brother Norman Todd.
Her greatest role was that of 'Mom' and nothing made her happier than to have all her children and their families gathered together under one roof. The love she felt for others was genuine and if you were important to and loved by her children and grandchildren, you were loved by her as well. Many considered her to be the best kind of friend. She always put others before herself and was always just a phone call away to help anyone that needed it. Her door was always open and her house always full of those she loved. As a daughter herself, she was dedicated to caring for her parents as they got older. A legacy she passed on to her own children. She loved to cook and bake and will be remembered for her homemade desserts and pies. Together, she and her husband owned their own restaurant, Reid's seafood. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing and being loved by her.
A Visitation will be held Friday, March 21, 2025, from 10-11am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12noon in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the RI Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI 02908.
