Anita Hollback Obituary

Anita Hollback, 67, of Ashtabula, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 26, 2026, at UH–Geauga Medical Center. Born on March 16, 1958, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Helen (Slack) Hollback. A lifelong resident of the area, Anita attended Edgewood High School. She had a deep love of learning and returned to school throughout her life, studying nursing and later pursuing social work at Edinboro University. Anita held many roles over the years, including her time working with the Ashtabula County Library Bookmobile. Her proudest professional accomplishment came from her entrepreneurial spirit-owning and operating her own game exchange stores in Ashtabula and Erie. She poured her energy, creativity, and determination into building something that was truly her own. She enjoyed reading, going to theaters to watch plays, listening to music, and going to the cinema to watch new movies. More than anything, Anita cherished time spent with her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she loved them with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Anita is survived by her children, Rachel (James) Conn and Nathan (Alicia) Summers; her sister, Judy (Ray) Knight; her grandchildren, Johnnie (Tia), Travis (Aliyah), Riley and Christian Bliffin, Ethan (Makayla VanSickle), Ean (Reanna), and Katalina Summers; Luna Alpha-Lynn Conn; and her great-grandchildren, Rosie, Little Johnnie, and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Stacy Lyn Summers-Bliffin; her brother, Dennis Hollback; her sisters, Rhonda Sue Fisher and Shirley Wortman; and her parents. A celebration of Anita's life will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest with her family at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
