Andrew Novak Obituary

Andrew F. Novak, 84, of Canna Street, Warwick, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Brentwood Nursing Home in Warwick. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara J. (Somers) Novak.
Born in Dunmore, PA, he was the son of the late Matthew C. and Helen (Metro) Novak.
He enjoyed a very happy and loving life with his beloved wife, Barbara, for over 50 years. He loved spending time with his children and especially his 2 grandchildren who would make him smile from ear to ear.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing chess, and gardening. He belonged to the Warwick Historical Society and a metal detecting club. He would also appreciate a good martini and a cigar.
He proudly worked for Northrop Grumman for 35 years. He worked on fighter jets, including his favorite, The F14 Tomcat. He also worked on the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM) during the Apollo program.
He would tell great stories of the time he served in the Army, stationed in Korea. He worked on the radio relay for missiles in Korea.
He is survived by his children, Christopher Novak and his wife Peggy of TX, David Novak of CA, and Carolyn Davis and her husband David of Warwick; his siblings, John Novak and his wife Donna of AZ, Rosemary Haney and her late husband Hurk of PA and Theresa Puksta and her husband Bob of PA; his in-laws, Kathleen Cimino and her late husband Bill of MD, Mary Ellen O'Malley and her late husband JP of PA, Patricia Padeletti and her husband Fred of Delaware and Robert Somers and his wife Martha of VA ; 2 grandchildren, Brandon Davis and Jett (Julia) Davis, both of Warwick; 2 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Matthew, Francis, Robert and Joseph Novak.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Barrett and Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI with a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick, RI.
