Albert J. Hamilton, 85, of Coventry, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at home on Friday, March 21, 2025,. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Clarke) Hamilton, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love, travel, and cherished memories.
Born in Providence, RI, on January 21, 1940, he was the son of the late Ammeddie and Rose (Forand) Hamilton. Albert dedicated 45 years of his life to a successful career as a tractor-trailer driver for General Electric, providing for his family with a strong work ethic.
Beyond his career, Al found joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a deep love for classic cars, frequently attending car shows and sharing stories with fellow enthusiasts. Camping was another passion, and for over four decades, he treasured his time spent at Johnson's Pond, his favorite retreat. Al also enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, where he could often be found on the balcony, watching dolphins leap through the waves. A talented and artistic painter, he had an eye for beauty that extended beyond his love for cars and nature.
Above all, Al was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Hamilton, and their cherished daughter, Leann Hamilton. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Robert Clarke, and his three beloved dogs, Benny, Prince Albert, and Winston, who brought him unconditional love and companionship.
Visitation will be held at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 E. Greenwich Avenue, 
West Warwick, RI, on Tuesday, March 25, beginning at 11:00 a.m., concluding with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Johnston, RI.
