Bernard Moody Obituary

Bernard "Bernie" W. Moody, 70, of Westmoreland, passed away peacefully on Friday. March 14, 2025 after battling cancer since May 2023. Born on October 26, 1954, in Bellows Falls, VT, he was the son of Rita Westcott-Miner and the late Walter Moody. Bernie grew up in New Hampshire and graduated from Keene High School. After graduating, he became a roofer for Melanson for over 35 years and then worked at Monadnock Developmental Services as a home care provider and maintenance worker where he retired. He volunteered at the Special Olympics for over 30 years where he was a bocce and bowling coach. A do-it-yourself type of man, he could fix anything and everything, including building the house where he resided. He was an avid Nascar fan and spent many weekends at the races in Louden with his family. In addition, he also loved camping, fishing, and boating. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Marie Moody of Westmoreland, NH; daughter Lisa Moody and her boyfriend Scott Stone (who was like a son to him) of Westmoreland; mother Rita Westcott-Miner of Westmoreland; sister Theresa Russell of Westmoreland; brothers Tim Moody of Westmoreland, Joe Moody of ME, and Anthony Moody of NC; and many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and step-family. In addition to his father, he also predeceased by his sister Rose Moody; brothers Mike and Patrick Moody; and nephew Matt Moody. A special heartfelt thank you goes out to Verna Berarducci. Theresa Russell, Laural Moody, Angie and Chris Carter, Lauren Moody, and Jessica Pond for helping Marie get through the tough times. Bernie has requested there be no funeral services.
