Shirley J. (Tobey) Chechile,92, passed away peacefully on Monday March 17, 2025. She was a daughter of the late Raymond "Chuck" Tobey and Henreitta (Smith) Holt. She was born and raised in Springfield and attended Commerce HS. Shirley was a lifelong member of the Agawam Congregation Church. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Her and her husband William enjoyed traveling and treasured time spent camping in Rhode Island. She was predeceased by her beloved husband William A. Chechile in 2000. She will be missed by her children Ronald W. Chechile and his wife Debra of Southwick, MA, and Donna M. Fay and her partner Bob Brothers of Feeding Hills, her Four beloved grandsons, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by a brother George Tobey and his wife Pat of Westfield, her sisters, Elsie Carron of Wilbraham, Barbara Belden of Wilbraham, and Gloria Clarke of Wilbraham. Shirley was predeceased by her parents and stepmother Maud E. Tobey, her brothers Raymond Tobey and Kenneth Tobey, her sisters Margaret Record and Joyce Seagaert. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 9AM- 11AM followed by a funeral home service at 11AM at the Colonial Forastiere Funeral and Cremation 985 Main St. Agawam, MA. Burial will be held in the Agawam Center Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in Shirleys name to American Heart Association or Mass Association for the Blind. I´ve known you for many years. I remember when you and Billy would walk down to Deb and Ron´s to visit after dinner. The talks we have when I cleaned for you. Or at family cookouts parties etc. you are at peace now and with your love and family. You will be missed.

I feel lucky to have know you, Gram. You were always kind, loving and funny. I especially loved when you would tell me stories of taking Jay camping in Rhode Island. I only wish I had the chance to meet Grandpa Billy - from what everyone tells me - you 2 were made for each other. You are now at peace and reunited with your forever Love! I know your energy will be with us always. I am a better person for having known and loved you! I'll be watching for winks. <3 Rest in peace, Gram!

We at the Agawam Senior Center Transportation group are truly sadden to hear of Shirley's passing.
