Wray Grant Obituary

Wray Livingston Grant Sr. age 42 was born on March 22, 1982, in Harmons, Manchester, Jamaica, West Indies. He was born to the late Clifford Grant and Albertha Thompson. Wray was the youngest of 8 children. At the age of 6, Wray lost his beloved mother who sadly transitioned after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
At the age of 10, Wray migrated to the United States and settled in Vineland, New Jersey, where he lived with his father Clifford Grant, and stepmother. After migrating to the United States, Wray began his education at Rossi Middle School. Then relocating to Brotmanville, NJ, Wray attended Schalick High School where he graduated in 2001 receiving his diploma. Wray accepted the lord and was baptized in 1996. Wray attended Sound of Praise, Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Pastor Naomi Jumpp, where he was an active member in the ministry.
Wray started working at Pizza Hut as a teenager but knew deep down that he was destined for greatness, therefore when the opportunity presented itself, he accepted it and went on to advance his career at Barrette Outdoor Living in Galloway, NJ. His hard work, determination, and problem-solving skills quickly allowed him to advance up the ladder to become a floor lead, a position he held for 10 years. Even earning the Distinguished Service Award.
The leadership spirit in Wray kept him eager to pursue more. Wray knew his passion was to lead and he fulfilled that role by accepting another leadership position as a warehouse supervisor for Composites One in Millville, NJ. He worked diligently for 2 years far exceeding the company quota with increased sales and productivity within his first year. He was very reliable, responsible, and trustworthy. He never missed a day of work. He always had a desire for becoming his own boss and was diligently working towards that goal.
In 2001 Wray met Tieshia Reese and what started off as a high school love story developed into a lifelong partnership. the two got married in 2011. In their union, they were blessed with two beautiful children Shanya and Wray Jr. Wray was very proud of his children. He took pride in instilling morals and values, teaching them respect and how to become independent and successful in this society. He always encouraged them to strive for greatness. Wray enjoyed spending time with his family especially taking his son to the basketball court on Saturdays as well as attending his football practices and never missing a game. Wray also spent quality time with his daughter doing arts and crafts and they especially enjoyed watching Bob Ross and painting together. He was very active in their schooling and attended several award ceremonies and banquets.
Wray was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose wisdom and selflessness brought joy to all who knew him. He was predeceased by his parents, Clifford Grant and Albertha Thompson, and brother, Owen Grant.
Wray leaves to cherish his wife Tieshia Grant, and children Shanya Grant and Wray Grant Jr. 4 brothers, Albert Spurgeon, Keith, Derrick, and Carl Grant. 3 sisters, Lorna Bartley (Hopeton Bartley) Shereth Williams (Lindon Williams Sr.), and Brittany Grant. 3 brothers-in-law, William Reese Jr, Jeremy Reese, and Juan Stevenson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and those whose lives were forever touched by his generosity, wisdom, and caring spirit.
Wray's memory will endure through his hard work, love for family, music, and kinship. He will be fondly remembered by all those who loved him.
