Douglas King Obituary

Douglas A. King, 66, of Sharon, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes early Tuesday morning, January 21, 2025, in the Emergency Room of UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Mr. King was born January 3, 1959, in Emlenton, PA, a son of the late Sonny and Hazel King.
For many years, Doug worked in the maintenance department at the F.H. Buhl Club in Sharon. During retirement, he worked for the Western Reserve Bingo held at the Sharon VFW.
Doug always looked forward to trips to the family camp in Tionesta, PA, where he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan who enjoyed watching old westerns with his wife, Elizabeth.
His wife of 32 years, Elizabeth Mae (Porterfield) King, whom he married on June 27, 1992, survives at home.
Doug is also survived by five sons, Douglas King, Jr. (Brandy), Panama City, FL, Chad Kettering, Sharon, Simon Kettering (Robin), Transfer, Blaine Kettering (Cindy), Hermitage, and Jonathan Misinay, of Pennsylvania; a daughter, Danielle Ballew (Steve), Sharon; three brothers, Richard King, Hubbard, OH, Robert King, New Castle, PA, and Michael King, Sharon; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Sara, Logan, Chad, Jacob, Craig, Hailey, Skylar, and John; three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Caisen, and Amira; numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Halo.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by a brother, Donald King; and two sisters, Barbara Say and Norma Jean King.

Calling hours will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday (1-26-25); and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday (1-27-25) both in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, in the funeral home, with Pastor Ed Dailey, officiating.
Interment: West Side Cemetery, South Pymatuning Twp.
