Zachary Lee Shawano

Zachary L. Shawano, 26, of Crandon, WI, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 20, 2015 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born on November 4, 1988 in Rhinelander, WI to Eugene Shawano and Dori Zimmerman.

Zach spent his childhood in the Crandon area and at the age of 12 moved to Lawerence, Kansas. He graduated from the Lawerence High School, and then moved to Madison, WI. There he worked for a public relations firm as a spokesperson for the Forest County Potawatomi. In 2013 he returned back to Crandon. On August 2, 2014, Zach married Megan Longanecker in Linden, WI. He loved playing church softball and golfing. He also enjoyed watching Wisconsin sports: Badgers, Packers, Brewers, and the Bucks when they were winning.

Zach is survived by his wife, Megan and son, Homer of Crandon, WI; father, Eugene (Michelle Johnson) of Crandon, WI; mother, Dori (Jim Tibbits) Zimmerman of Fort Myers, FL, a sister, Abigail Shawano of Lawerence, KS,; a brother, Oliver Shawano of Lawerence, KS. He is further survived by step sisters: Kaylee McGeshick of Appleton, & Taylor Smith of Crandon, WI, a step-brother, Kody Smith of Appleton, WI, sister-in-laws: Gina Currier of Louisville, KY, Kristen Rice of Minneapolis, MN, and brothers-in-law: Dakota Kahn and Tyler Kahn of Lawerence, KS; also paternal grandparents Eugene (Eleanor) Shawano of Crandon, WI, and maternal grandparents Milton (Rita) Zimmerman of Linden, WI.

Visitation for Zach will be held after 4:00 pm on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at the Lake Lucerne Gospel Chapel, Crandon, WI. Meal will take place on Wednesday March 25, at 12:00 noon at the church, with the funeral service to follow. Rev. Don Dewing will officiate.
