William Whedon Obituary

William Thomas Whedon, Jr., age 72 of the KCMO area passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at Pinnacle Ridge in Olathe. Graveside services will be 5PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Wellsville Cemetery with visitation one hour prior at Wilson's Funeral Home in Wellsville. Memorial contributions may be made to in care of Wilson's, PO Box 486,Wellsville, KS 66092.

William Thomas Whedon, Jr. was born April 21, 1943 in KCK, the eldest son of 9 children to William Thomas and Anne (Raysik) Whedon. Bill grew up in KCMO and graduated from DeLasalle Academy in 1960. In 1961 he married Bevery Sheridan and to this union 3 daughters were born. Bill worked for Fisher Body and then IBM as a field engineer and programer for 28 years. He owned a pottery shop in Woodstock, NY and loved photography, music, silver-smithing and working on cars. He married Karen Meier in 1978 and they later divorced in 2011.

Bill is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Karin and Gilbert Ponce of Wellsville; daughter Sheila Blair of Ulster Park, NY; daughter Lynda Suzanne Whedon of Baldwin City, KS; step-daughter, Jeanne Baker of California; step-daughter, Sheryl Hall of England; siblings Anne Altermann, Eve Eighmy, Christopher Whedon, Gabrielle Woodward, Greg Whedon, Cynthia Hein and Robert Whedon; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchidren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, a brother, John.
