William Hogan Obituary

Our dearly loved William E. "Bill" Hogan II, age 75, passed away on May 15, 2018, surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by his parents William E. Hogan and Dorothy S. Hogan.

He was a wonderful husband and father, and committed to his faith. Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Shadra, daughter Shalaun Newton (Milt), son William E. Hogan III; grandchildren, Shaniya and Miles; sister Julia Johnson; and nieces and nephews.

His career included, Associate Executive Vice Chancellor and full professor of electrical engineering at the University of Kansas; Vice President of Honeywell, Inc. and Medtronic, Inc.; Chairman and CEO of The Hogan Group; and the University of Minnesota Board of Regents for twelve years, Chair for two years.

He served as director or advisor on a number of Fortune 100 boards including, Bayer, Medica, AM International, and American Express Trust Fund.

His education includes a PH.D in Electrical Engineering, Oklahoma State University (OSU); MS in Electrical Engineering, Southern Methodist University; and BS in Electrical Engineering, OSU.

A Celebration of William's Life will be held on Thursday, May 31 at Grace Church, 9301 Eden Prairie Rd, Eden Prairie, MN 55347 at 11am – Visitation, 12 noon – Memorial and Reception following. Memorial donation to amyloidosis.org

Shadra, I don't know if you remember me but we sat by each other at KU basketball games back in the early 80s (with my ex husband Lonny Rose). I have thought of you all often and was saddened to hear about Bill's passing. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Fondly, Pat (Rose) Bates

I fondly remember Bill and his family from our early days in Lawrence,Ks; it was my honor to care for Bill and his family. I also enjoyed the times we played tennis.
