William Edwards Obituary
He was born April 17, 1944 in Ottawa, KS the son of Pearl and Juanita (Smith) Edwards.
Lester attended schools in Ottawa, KS graduating from the Ottawa High School in 1964.
After high school, Lester moved to the Los Angeles, California area. He was a machine operator for Aeroquip in Pasadena, California.
He was united in marriage to Mona Lee Osborne on May 21, 1979 in Los Angeles, California. They shared over thirty-eight years of marriage.
Lester and Mona moved to Lawrence, KS in 1983 and then later to Ottawa and have resided here since. He worked at the Earl May Garden Center in Lawrence, KS. He owned and operated the L & M Cleaning Service serving businesses in Ottawa and Lawrence. Lester also worked for the University of Kansas, Preventative Maintenance Department in Lawrence, KS for twenty-five years. He currently worked for Franklin County Kansas as a custodian.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lewis and Michael Edwards; and a son, Glenn Jefferson.
He is survived by his wife, Mona of the home; six children, son, William Lester Edwards Jr. and his wife, Veronica of Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Donna Nicole Edwards of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Rhonda Jefferson of Ontario, CA; son, Gerald Jefferson of Lawrence, KS; son, Troy Jefferson and his wife, Karen of Gardenia, CA; son, Tracy Jefferson and his wife, Cynthia of Lawrence, KS; two sisters, May Trosclair of Pomona, CA and Lucille Warren and her husband, William of Hesperia, CA; sixteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
To celebrate Lester's life the family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the William Lester Edwards Memorial Fund and may be sent c/o the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa, KS 66067. I am so sorry for the loss Lester. I haven't seen Mona or Lester for many years. Mona and Les welcomed me into their home on Rhode Island St. I will always remember the fun times, and Les's beautiful smile and laugh. Mona, Nicki , and family you are in my thoughts.

I'am sure everyone who knew Mona and Lester can agree that their Love for each other and everyone around them is forever. We will always Love and miss Lester but never forget the fun and happy times.
