Wayne Dedloff Obituary

Wayne Thomas Dedloff, 59, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on November 1, 2025, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, Kansas.

Wayne was born on April 28, 1966, in Stuttgart, Germany, the son of James Thomas and Edeltraud (Wuttkowski) Dedloff.

After graduating from Lansing High School in 1984, Wayne attended the University of Kansas, where he studied Journalism and was a proud member of the Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity, serving as Rush Chairman.

He met Sherri (Loveland) Dedloff on July 2, 1990, at a Kansas City Royals game, and the two were married on October 2, 1993, in Lawrence. She survives at their home.

Wayne is also survived by his mother, Edeltraud Dedloff; his sister, Melissa Dedloff; and his sons, Hunter and Logan Dedloff.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Thomas Dedloff.

A lifelong golfer, Wayne enjoyed playing with friends and family and took great pride in coaching his sons' sports teams and guiding them through Cub Scouts. He was also a passionate fan of the Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence Humane Society or the Gary Sinise Foundation or the organization of your choice that supports Veterans, in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
