Warren Peterson Obituary

Warren Hartley Peterson, born May 29, 1928 in Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2014 at Epoch of Brewster surrounded by his loving family. Among Warren's greatest qualities were his genuine kindness, gentleness, thoughtfulness, and caring, as well as his deep love for his family, and infectious smile with a wonderful sense of humor that he shared with everyone. After an Honorable Discharge from the US Navy, Warren graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and obtained his Professional Engineers License. Warren's early life experiences include time as a Fire Chief of a Volunteer Fire Department in Fishers, NY where he was instrumental in purchasing a departmental fire truck. Warren was very proficient in building and repairing large pipe organs as well as playing the pipe organs in many churches and he directed complex chorale performances. Warren also played other musical instruments including the bassoon and piano and sang in choirs. Warren's early musical career included playing in the Navy Band. Warren's employment history includes Eastman Kodak Company, HR Coffin Company (Power Line Construction), Nickerson Lumber Company, and he retired after many years as Assistant Vice President at Harvard University Real Estate. Warren's retirement hobbies included participation in layout construction at the Nauset Model Railroad Club for many years. Warren is survived by his wife, Anita Peterson, daughters: Karen Sharpless, Linda Peterson, Janis Peterson-Cadorette, brother, Raymond Peterson, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Military funeral services will be held at the Bourne National Cemetery on October 31, 2014 promptly at 1:00 p.m. for friends and family. www.CSOFMA.com
