Virginia Carroll Obituary

Virginia E. Carroll, 93, Wellsville, KS, a former resident of Gladstone, MO, passed away June 26, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Wellsville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 Saturday, June 30th at Divine Mercy Parish/Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gardner, KS. Rite of Committal will be 12 Noon Saturday at Resurrection Cemetery North. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Friday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a rosary will be prayed at 06:30 PM. Contributions are suggested to the Visiting Nurses Association, Lawrence, KS.

Virginia was born October 16, 1918 in Ft Wayne, IN. She and her husband, William, moved to Kansas City in 1957 and to Gladstone in 1971. She moved to Wellsville six years ago. Virginia was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish/Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gardner and a former parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Gladstone, MO. Virginia was employed with the Missouri Peace Officers Association from 1968 until her retirement in 1982. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader. Her husband, William, preceded her in death in 2004.

Survivors include her eight children, William M. Carroll, Jr. (Sue), Mary Barney (Dick), Margaret McGinnis (Terry), Jane Bollard (Dan), Dan Carroll (Diane), John Carroll, Robert Carroll and Tim Carroll (Robin); 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
