Vicki Johnson Obituary

On Sunday, September 1, 2013 Vicki Marie Johnson received her heavenly reward after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's disease. "Absent from the body, present with the Lord." Vicki was born to Neil and Evelyn Anderson on January 21, 1953 in Seattle, WA. She graduated with honors from Woodway High School in Edmonds in 1971, Seattle Pacific College (Magna Cum Laude) in 1975, and Seattle Bible Institute in 1976. She served with The Evangelical Alliance Mission in France, taught at Mariner High School (Mukilteo, WA), and always held various volunteer teaching and service positions. In her highly creative life she touched many lives with her kind and gentle spirit, commitment to faith and family, and many talents. She married Erik Johnson in 1977. After their move to Ferndale in 1981 she invested her creativity into being a mother, pastor's wife, artist, calligrapher, mentor, encourager, and speaker at women's meetings, retreats, and seminars. Her greatest joy was her five children into whose lives she poured her energies as home educator. She also taught art and calligraphy to children and adults throughout Whatcom County. She loved gardening, singing, and hugs. Vicki will be remembered for her generosity, caring heart, and vibrant personality. She was a woman of faith, hope, love, beauty, poise, humor, laughter, and creativity. She will be dearly missed. I'm really sorry to hear of Vicki's passing. I attended both Woodway HS in Edmonds, and Seattle Pacific with her - the same year. We are celebrating our 50th reunion, and I was doing some sleuthing. God continue to grant wisdom and strength to her family. She was an outstanding woman and I'm sure she is profoundly missed by many.

What a precious lady! I corresponded with Vicki for years as we had children about the same ages as well as a common interest in homeschooling. I will always remember her as being joyful, godly, thoughtful, intelligent, creative, and extremely caring. My thoughts and prayers are with Erik and the family. By His grace,

To Johnson family, May God's peace get you through this time. Vicki was so personable, warm and approachable. I was on a women's retreat committee with her, and she was very hospitable. Patricia Stollberg

My dad told me that Vicki had passed and I took a moment to remember her for the gracious woman she was. As the youth pastor's wife, she was a role model to us teenagers, but her priority was always her kids and homeschooling. I know that you will share many memories of her when she was completely herself. May God get you through this tough time.

I heard of Vicki's homegoing from my wife Betty Jane. I didn't know her as well as most, but I do remember her genuine sweetness. Sorry for this great loss to family and friends, grateful that she suffers no more, joyful that she is experiencing optimal peace.
