Vernon Burkett, 60, passed away unexpectedly March 16 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends, 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, March 26, 2014 at the Mary Butler Meyers Funeral Home, 6300 Parallel Pkwy, Kansas City, KS.. The family wishes to thank the ICU staff at LMH as well as the Lawrence Police and Fire Departments for their heroic efforts in trying to help him in his hour of need.
