What wonderful memories I have of growing up across the alley from Tim and the Adamson family. Tim was a couple years older than me, but we were teammates on a Cosmo baseball team that won the city championship in 1964. He was one of the stars and someone I looked up to. I know he will be missed.

I met Tim about 1965. He was playing drums in some band on Kansas Avenue in front of Jenkins Music. Since I played drums, too, we had an immediate connection, but nothing you could call normal. We probably said 10 words to each other in the next 2 years, but even so we were fast friends. Tim was an amazing drummer. I would stand there and watch him play off into a riff that didn't seem to have anything at all to do with what had come before. And I would think to myself, "How is he ever going to come back from this?" But he always did, dead-square on the beat like a Swiss watch. How did he do that? Amazing. Later he got me a job at Dale Sharp Pontiac where he was a Mercedes mechanic. I just LOVED to hear him b**** about the idiot customers. One day a guy came in with a big green V8 sedan complaining about the brakes. Timmy took it for a test drive and when he got back the front wheel was on fire!! So he put it out, bought the car, fixed it, drove it for a little while and then totaled it taking a turn too fast. That was Tim. Later we were in KC working in a Volvo dealership. We took one to lunch to test drive the brakes and sure enough they were bad... $2,500 damage to a brand new Cadillac. The owner turned purple with rage screaming and I can see Tim like it was yesterday trying to hide that big grin of his (I was driving). What a wonderful, cynical, warm, b****y, funny, loving, tortured character you are, Tim. I love you. You made my life a whole lot more fun.

I didn't know Tim as well as some of my other acquaintances did, but he and I played music together a few times. I always enjoyed his company and the way he played those drums.

I knew Tim for forty years. I had laughed with him (endlessly), but cried with him, too. He was one in a million.....not without his warts, as most who knew him, knew....but he was quite a guy, nonetheless. He would do anything for you. He always laughed at my jokes. He was my friend, in the truest sense of the word. I will miss him.

My best memories of Uncle Tim were when I was very young - and then in my late to mid-twenties. He was always a non-comformist, and I really appreciated that about him. He never waivered, always spoke his mind, and lived his life the way he wanted to. Loved Uncle Tim quite a bit.

You only meet a few people on your life, if your lucky, like Tim. He was a gifted, original and unique character. I had not seen Tim in quite awhile, but times we spent playing music and living that life back in the day are some of my fondest memories. I am so sad, but also blessed to have been enfluenced by this guy. What a man!!! Tom Burgess
