Thomas Vorbeck Obituary

Thomas Robert (Joe) Vorbeck, 64, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at KU Medical Center, KC, KS. Funeral service was 11 am Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial followed in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie. The family received friends from 6-8 pm Monday, January 30, at the Quisenberry Chapel. Thomas was born February 3, 1947 in Chillicothe, MO, the son of Thomas and Bonnie (Pittman) Vorbeck. He worked as an Elevator Constructor for 40 years for Otis Elevator Co., KC, MO. He was a member of the Elevator Constructors Union Local #12 KC, MO. He married the love of his life June 1, 1968 in Kansas City, KS to Janet Cooper, who survives of the home. He was preceded in death by both parents, 2 brothers, Rusty and Tim, and his sister Kim. Other survivors include; one son, Joel (Jenny) Vorbeck, Tonganoxie, KS; one daughter, Lori (Kent) Heskett, Tonganoxie; one sister, Dora (Bill) Terrell, Linwood, KS; six grandchildren, Sara Socia, Thomas, Jake, and Shelby Heskett, Jackson and Jordyn Vorbeck; one great grandchild, Brooklyn Socia.
