Thomas Osborne Obituary

Thomas Osborne, 79, of Topeka, passed away on June 13, 2022 at the Midland Hospice House. The Des Moines native was born to Harvey and Dorothy Osborne on September 17, 1942.

Tom graduated from Lincoln High School. Shortly after he began working for Wakonda Country Club. Tom met the love of his life Virginia at Wakonda and later the two married on June 6, 1964. Together they had 3 children Denise, Dana, and Shawn.

Tom worked as a manager for golf and country clubs in several states for over 40 years. A career of service led him to become the chapter president of Club Manager Association of America before retirement in 2007.

Tom enjoyed hunting with his son Shawn, and friends. Along with managing the club, he also found himself as a regular on the golf course. His passion for sport translated later on in life as a regular at grandchildren's sport events, not holding back at a referee's questionable calls. KU basketball elicited the same emotions.

Tom instilled a grit and hard-working attitude to his large family that will live on for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Virginia; their three children, Denise (Matt) children Katie, Lauren and David; Dana children Zach, Nick, and Austin and Shawn (Shala) children Isabell and Thomas and his brother Kelly Osborne (Penny). He was preceded in death by both of his parents; and many siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled on a later date.
