Thomas "Duane" Newton

Thomas "Duane" Newton, 61, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Monday March 4, 2013 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Leavenworth, KS.

Funeral service will be 10 am Friday March 8, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Tonganoxie. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday at the Church where a rosary will be said at 7pm.

Thomas was born April 5, 1951 in Chillicothe, MO, the son of Thomas C. and Myrtle (Standley) Newton. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Tonganoxie.

Survivors include; his wife, Helen Louise Newton, of the home; three sons, Clint D., Gardner, KS, Chris T., Kansas City, KS, Kyle J. Bonner Springs, KS; two daughters, Debra M. Newton, Tonganoxie, Kimberly J. Newton, Overland Park, KS; one brother, Ferrill Newton, Longford, KS; one sister, Jane Howard, Eudora, KS; and 7 grandchildren.
