Terrence Phillips Obituary
Born November 20th, 1957, to Lewis and Carolyn Phillips, Terry married Deanna Tebo in 1996 at First United Methodist Church, Lawrence They have one daughter, Madelyn Anne Irene.
After graduating from New Mexico State University with a business degree, he was employed by Sprint/Ericsson for 39 years as a highly respected Manager, Transport Engineering.
His passion was taking meticulous care of his yard, gardening at the farm and watching and listening to Kansas thunderstorms from the porch at home or the lake. He loved watching Jayhawk football and basketball games. And he thrived on taking care of his family and absolutely loved being Madelyn's father. He had a real soft spot for his dog, Harley.
Terry is survived by his wife and daughter, sister Constance (Rick) Soloway and brother Jon (Vickie) Phillips as well as his sister-in-law Dana Tebo, and his nephew Chris (Emma) and nieces Taylor and Katelyn.
A Celebration of Life will be held May 8th, 2023, 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 946 Vermont St., Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to LMH Health oncology services in recognition of the outstanding, kind and compassionate care Terry received. Donations may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

Terry was my boss for 3 a half years at Sprint. I just found out about his passing. He was a wonderful person and boss and I am so saddened of this loss. My condolences and prayers go to his family.

Terrence had a huge impact on my life. I worked for him at Sprint/Ericsson for many years and his influence encouraged me to look for new ways of coping with stress. That path has led me to who I am today and doing what I am called to do, which would not have happened if it were not for his influence. I am thankful for having known him. My sincerest condolences to his family, especially his daughter whom he adored.

I am so blessed to have had the pleasure to have worked, laughted, and had many life experiences with Terrence. I will miss our Pizza Shop lunches and banter emails. Dee and Mattie may God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
