Steve Danielson Obituary

Graveside services for Steven Jon "Macgyver" Danielson Sr., 66, Lawrence, will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends 11:00 a.m. ~ 12:00 p.m., Monday, September 16, 2024, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Steve passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Steve was born on July 14, 1958, in Duluth, MN, the son of Burton and Ella (Lobermeier) Danielson.

He married Debra Jim on May 1, 1982, in Lawrence, KS and she survives at home.

Upon graduating from Haskell Indian Junior college, he went on to work for the university until retirement. As a man of many trades, he spent his days in retirement working on home projects and fixing things for his friends. Otherwise, he was enjoying time with his wife, kids, and grandkids. His passions were all things motorcycles, fishing and treaty rights, family and just plain appreciating life and all the little things.

Other survivors include his children, Steven Jon (Rebekah) Danielson Jr., April Danielson, Miranda (William Sr.) Rice, Dena Danielson, siblings, Mary Chapman, Ric Danielson, Bob Danielson, Karen Bunch, Ken Danielson, Kim Payne, Dena Danielson, Jerry Danielson, Ginger Danielson, Leo Danielson, Tommy Danielson and nine grandchildren.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made in Steven's name to The Wounded Warrior Project and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.

My condolences, Steve was a good and knowledgeable in mechanical things, he was my go to man about haskell's heating systems, I work there and we were both mechanics before we became haskell's boiler techs. I will miss him,

We remember so many things that made you special to Bob and I. You loved to cook and would bring me dinner then I wouldn't have to cook,
thank you! You entertain us with your many, many stories and would bring a smile on our faces, thank
you! You would randomly stop by to visit as if you knew we needed comp byany to spend time with us, thank you! There are many more things you done that made us friend, thank you! You will be missed by us but, we must know that you are now still with us in spirit, thank you! We are proud to have known you, our dear friend, thank you for being in our lives.

Jon brown ,we were on our way up north. I was 17, you pulled over on the freeway and we climbed up on top the roof of the car. You said . look up.you showed me the Northern lights. that was the very first time I had ever seen them. I was in awe. Brother I'll never forget that. Love you and most of all will miss you
