Stella Stookey Obituary
Stella M. Stookey, 89, of Tucson, AZ passed away June 3, 2013. She was born Jan. 22, 1924 in LaMonte, MO to Edward B. and Mary A. Coon. She was predeceased by a daughter Pamela Joy Ford in 1958 and her husband Merl Stookey and brothers Burl and Hobart Coon. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ford Owen (Michael); two granddaughters Amanda and Megan Owen; and her sister Zola Bundy. She was a member of the Green Valley Community Church, and had been an Administrative Assistant at the Pima Community College where she had also received her Associate's Degree. In 1989 she was named the ABWA El Sol Chapter's "Woman of the Year." She had been a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of True Kindred and White Shrine. She enjoyed her friends, including her life-long friend Sari. A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Private family committal in the Bonner Springs Cemetery.
