Scott Etherton Obituary

Graveside services for Scott Etherton, 65, Lawrence, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, Kansas. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. He died January 20, 2018 at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.

Scott was born December 4, 1952 in Lawrence, KS the son of Bob and Jean Etherton.

A lifetime resident of Lawrence, Scott was a member of First Christian Church and a 1973 graduate of Lawrence High School.

Scott loved to watch and attend KU football games and supported Lawrence High School Football as well. He was an avid reader of historical events.

He worked at the University of Kansas in the Building and Grounds Department and then finished his career working at Lawrence High School in the Facilities and Grounds Department.

Survivors include his sisters, Diane (Darrell) Page of Eudora, KS; Robin (Willard) Holladay of Lawrence, KS; his brother, Mark Etherton of Chico, Texas and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Great Lakes Caring Hospice and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Scott at Brandon Woods and Great Lake Caring Hospice.

Scott was a great guy, I will miss our little visits. He so loved watching the KU games and reading his newspaper. I got the routine down pat as to what parts of the paper he needed! My thoughts and prayers for the family at this time. Please let us know if we can do anything for you.
