Sandra Nossaman Obituary

One of the perks of getting old is the time to muse about your life--- The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Sandy is still a standout in my Good memories. I'm so happy I knew her during years I was becoming the old woman I am.

I dearly loved SanDee! Who didn't? I always attributed her as the one who saved my life when I was at the swimming pool in Medicine Lodge and managed to get into water deeper than I could handle! I was too shy to holler for help, but SanDee saw me bobbing and came to my rescue. She was my idol and I always wanted to be just like her. What a wonderful role model she was to all! She will be greatly missed. You all are in my thoughts and prayers!!!

I knew San Dee only briefly. However, I soon learned what an impact she made in Medicine Lodge and Lawrence. I was most impressed by her kindness and engaging laugh. Her family was left with an amazing legacy of strength and caring. Our community and friends will sorely miss her.

I was so sorry to hear of SanDee's passing. I pet sat the family cat many years ago and she was such a sweet person. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I remember meeting Sandee for the first time. She had a beautiful smile that lit up her whole face. She and Jerry drove to my home in DeSoto to welcome my middle son who was born not long after I started work here in town. It made an impression on me and as I learned more about them I realized that she and Jerry are both thoughtful, kind and special people. I hope and pray for peace for her family during this saddest of times.

She was such a lovely lady. My thoughts are with all of you.

SanDee was one of my dearest friends. We met in first grade, lived a block apart, played together (often in the storage cabinet in the wall way above her bed), shared wild escapades as teenagers, had a Homer and Jethro act together, spent her first two years of college together and in recent years enjoyed high school reunions and special reunions with 16 other college women from our sophomore year. That all was part of the fun. The more important part of our relationship was her love and caring, traits she shared with many. Everyone who knew SanDee was a very fortunate person. Jeez. I just heard here in Medicine Lodge that Sandee passé away. I just talked to her at Indian Summer days at the Stockade a few weeks ago. Such a neat gal and always so nice to me and my mother Maxine Nixon. I will miss her at 99 Springs as well. My thoughts and prayers are with her sister and family.

I've always felt lucky to have grown up in Medicine Lodge and an important part of that good fortune was having Sandy Gordon as a friend. I've been remembering those years and realized I can't remember a single instance when she said or did anything that was unkind. (Wish I could say the same for myself.) Although we didn't stay in close contact after high school, I was always comforted by the knowledge that life in general was improved because she was in it. I know I'm just one of many who will miss her, she was easy to love.

It's always tough to find the right words to say in times of such sorrow because there aren't any.. but the words of the previous entries really tell what an amazing, genuine, and loving woman SanDee is. Truly honored to know her as everyone has expressed. My heart holds a very special place for the Nossaman family. Thinking of you Jerry. <3

I am so stunned at SanDee's passing. She was one of the first women I met when I came to Lawrence and we immediately formed a connection. SanDee was a part of our family when she was our babysitter. I know than my mother thought of her as a member of our family and a fifth daughter. As one of my sisters said today, SanDee was perfect. Sandy was one of the real bright spots at MLHS. She was always one of my favorite people - ever upbeat and positive. I regret our paths took different forks and we didn't meet as often as I'd have liked. Our condolences to Jerry and the rest of the family.

It was always such a fun time when SanDee came to Colorado to visit her sister and my best friend, Mary. We laughed and laughed at the silly things our kids did and reflected on the joys of motherhood. She was truly a genuine and special lady.
