Ronald Coy Barker

Ronald Coy Barker, age 72, of Warsaw, Missouri, formerly of Tonganoxie, Kansas, passed away, August 1, 2013, at the Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw. He was born on February 12, 1941, the son of Coy and Olline Barker, in Avondale, Missouri.

He grew up in the Kansas City, Kansas area and graduated from Washington High School, class of 1960. On May 29, 1962, he entered into the United States Army and served as a radar specialist until he was honorably discharged on May 28, 1965.

On April 19, 1988, he was united in marriage to Phylles Connell in Kansas City, Kansas.

Following his military service he began working for General Motors where he retired when he was at the age of 50. After his retirement, Ronald and Phylles opened Tonganoxie Wood Shop. He then retired to Warsaw, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy & Olline Barker.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Phylles, of the home, 5 children, Jason Barker, and fiancée, Terri Parker, of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Lisa McNeece, of McLouth, Kansas and Lincoln, Nebraska, Lisa Dent and husband, Scott, of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Jack Piersee, and wife Diane, of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Teresa Piersee-Watson and husband Scott, of Paola, Kansas and Warsaw, Missouri, 2 sisters, Ruth Ann Kistner, and husband Bob, of Denver, Colorado, Jannett Brooks, and husband Kenneth, of Kansas City, Kansas, 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and loved by many friends.

Funeral Services were held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri. Burial and Military Rites followed at the Riverside Cemetery in Warsaw. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tonganoxie VFW.
