Roman William Hardy, 3, passed away unexpectedly at Children's Mercy on Sept 9, 2021, in the loving arms of his parents after a sudden illness.

Roman and his twin sister, Mila, were born on July 4, 2018 in Overland Park, Kansas, to parents David and Devin Hardy. Roman was the funniest little boy and had so many nicknames: RoRo, Ro, Romi, Worm, Wormy, Pud, Puddy, Little Opossum just to list a few. Roman was so full of life and made everyone laugh. He loved the color blue, balloons, running around naked, dinosaurs, peeing outside (he had the HIGHEST pee!), and roaring like Simba from The Lion King. He was a Kansas City Chiefs fan (our little Mahomie), and loved to watch football with his daddy. He loved giving kisses, fruit snacks, excavators, and running around outside. Roman had strong ties to his Choctaw and Mexican heritages and loved eating rice and fry bread.

Mila and Roman were born together and will always share an eternal connection. They were each other's best friends, partners, and wrestling buddies. Roman will live on in Mila's heart and soul as he is part of the fabric that created her. Mila will always know her brother and the love they shared.

Roman is survived by the Hardy, Chavez, Creek, Shockley, and Sapp families. His spirit will live on through the laughter of his sister, Mila, and the many stories his family and friends will continue to share.

A visitation will be held at Rumsey-Yost, Friday, September 17th from 5-7 pm at 601 Indiana St, Lawrence, KS 66044. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 18th at Clinton Lake West Outlet Park, 1316 E 902 Rd, Lawrence, KS 66047 at 4:00 pm where we will remember and celebrate Roman. It will be a fun, kid-focused celebration to honor the happiness that Roman brought to all of our lives. A fundraiser has been created as Roman's final gift to Mila for her college fund at

Give your loved ones "One more, one more" hug, as Roman used to say.
