Our hearts are saddened with the news of Rolla's passing. He was a very special person and dear friend. We have so many great memories from years ago. Those trips to Omaha for the horse races in the brown party van, the time I rolled our car in Westphalia KS and the whole Lee family came to our rescue and who can forget all the New Year's Eve shrimp & crab legs dinners. Rolla was a wonderful Dad to his boys, a great husband to his wife and a true friend to all that had the pleasure of knowing him. Our hearts go out to Pam,the boys and their families.

I loved to hear Uncle Sonny tell a story. Most of the time he would get to talking so fast and laughing while telling the story I couldn't exactly figure out what he was saying. I would always end up laughing because you couldn't listen to his laugh without laughing too!

My "pops", as a lot of you may know, was my first "hero". Being the eldest of three boys, dad and I shared many first together. He was the person who pitched a ball first to me so that I may learn how to hit. He was my first coach. He bought me my first glove. He took me to my first Royals game (in the old stadium). He was the first person to pat my back when I did good. He was the first person spank my butt when I did wrong. He took me to my first concert. He shared my first beer with me. We shared opening night of all KC casinos together. He coached my baseball team to my first national tourney in Colorado Springs. He was the first to example proper treatment of people to me in business. He was the first to teach me the valuable lesson of being a leader. He was with me on my first college baseball road trip to Texas and Mexico. He was the first to teach me how to be a real father. These are just a few of the many first that I experience with my father, mentor, and best friend. Those times will never be forgotten and will be cherished for my eternity. But, I will never forget the "last" moment we spent together. Sharing time, three generations of love. Dad, Me, and Dani. As we both walk away...papa, love you, feel better and see you soon. That "soon" may seem like forever for us now...but, I can't wait to play catch again in heaven pops. I will miss you more than anyone can imagine...Love you Pops, I know your feeling better now, and I will see you soon. BK
