Looking back on my 55 1/2 years of practice, Robert Hudson played a key role in my approach to the practice of medicine. By placing my patient first, I believe I practiced as Dr Hudson would have wanted me too always working to make by patient healthier and confident in his or her recovery. He was an educator always looking for the best in the student and expecting the best from the student. I will always cherish my relationship with Dr. Hudson.

What I remember most about Dr Hudson (Bob to most of us) was his smile and pleasing personality that helped we medical students get through medical school. His presence always added to the room. His friendship from the beginning (he was on my interview committee) was an assurance that life was very good once graduated. He was always there for conversation or help in any situation. I have his picture on a special wall in my home to remind me of the "good old days".

I am grateful for the life of Dr. Hudson. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

A man is known by what he leaves behind and clearly Dr Hudson will long be honored and remembered by what he has left behind, including his talented daughter, Kathleen

We visited with Dr. Hudson on many occasions when Lauri would host one celebration or another. He was a very interesting man with a great sense of humor and a tremendous love for his family. He would alway tell me to call him Bob, so rest in pease Bob.

Robert Hudson, M.D. was one of my finest teachers and mentors at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Beginning with his presence on the interview panel when I applied to medical school, to his lectures in Internal Medicine and History of Medicine, his rounds with us in Physical Medicine our 2nd year, in Dr. Delp's absence on Internal Medicine rounds our 3rd and 4th years, and the casual meetings with him in the halls taught me that the practice of medicine is truely an art and should at all times be carried out with greatest dignity and the highest quality of morality and character. Dr Hudson was truely one of the great corner stones of my medical education, and the reason I will always remember him as a great educator. Bill Campbell, M.D., KUMC '65.
