Robert Brown was the only person my autistic grandson would allow to cut his hair.. since Bobs passing I used to cut his hair and that didn’t last long. Now my boy has hair down to the middle of his back. Not only was Bob wonderful with cutting hair he was funny and a truly happy person. He had such a wonderful gentleness about him and is sorely missed.

I'm so sorry to learn about Bob's death. For all the years I've known him, since the 70's, he was such a vital guy, easy to like and easy to admire. I'm fortunate and grateful to
have known him and shared his fine
company. I know Bob will be mightily
missed and warmly recalled by the many
people he touched along his path.

Bob was such a great person & a great friend. He cut my hair for years & it was always nice to visit with him. He always put a smile on my face and made you feel great. I will miss him but I will never forget him. Kathy you were his true soulmate and my heart goes out to you & your family.

Dear Kathy and Family,
Bob was a blessing in so many ways, such a wonderful hairdresser and friend to those of us who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a great fan of my sugar cookies at Christmas time. I think of him and smile every year when I bake them because he told me they were the "world's best sugar cookies". When we moved back to Idaho from Lawrence in 1999 he was one of the people I missed the most, not just for his great haircuts but for the joy he brought to all who knew him. I was so happy to hear that you two had followed your dreams and moved to Mexico. Find comfort in all of your wonderful memories until you meet again...
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely, Trina Buckalew

My heart hurts so much for you, sister Kathy. I wish I could hug you and cry with you. Know that I think of you often and pray that you and all of your family are comforted knowing that Bob is with his maker and smiling from heaven. There are so many memories of Bob, from Winfield extravaganzas, to New Years Day annual gatherings, to singing in his basement on Utah Ct to New Grass Revival, to his impeccable haircuts that would impress everyone. What a contagious smile and laugh, and sense of humor. He is partying with the angels now. God bless you and yours. Love and Sympathy...

In all the years I knew Bob he always made the choice to look forward with hope. His smile came straight from his heart and went straight into yours. That can only happen if love lives inside you and love did live in Bob Brown

Dear Kathy and Bob's Family, There are no words to express the sadness and sorrow I, and so many others, felt at reading the news of Bob's passing - just as there are no words to express the friendship and joy he brought to all of us. Kathy, I am so very sorry for your loss and hope the wonderful memories you have of your time with Bob will bring you strength and comfort in the days ahead. He loved you and his family so very much and I am so glad you found each other - even if your time was too short. Bob was my hairdresser beginning way back in 1972 and I would always - and I mean always - receive compliments on my hair cuts/styles - even from strangers on the street! We went through many happy and not so happy times with various stages in our lives and I'll always remember how excited he was to be going to San Miguel with you. You were the love and light of his life, as I know he was of yours. I know that light will continue to glow inside bringing you strength, peace and comfort each day. Sending prayers and love to you, Kathy, and to yours and Bob's wonderful family. Susan

Bob and me were good friends in late 50's in Topeka when we lived on John street. We were always running around together and having fun. He had a great smile and laughter. He lived in Lecompton Ks for a little while before he moved to Lawrence. His son David married one of our local girls. He will be missed by everyone who crossed his path. He was a great and fun loving guy.

To Karhy, and Bob's Family,
We are so very sad to hear of Bob's passing. He cut my hair here in San Miguel and I always appreciated his easy, fun manner. We always had plenty to talk about . He loved to read western novels and I would bring him as many as I could from our second hand books at our monthly Alma sale.
Our very sincere condolences to Kathy and family. Bob was a great person!

Kathy, we've been each other's rock for so many years. I know nothing I can do or say can take away your pain or make your heartache go away. I'm at a loss for words.
Bob was everything to everybody. He was the true definition of your soul mate. He was a proud Dad and a proud Grandfather. He was a true friend to everyone. You either loved Bob or you loved him even more.
So at that big table in Heaven, (you know the one, in front of the big screen) Bob is there, grinning ear to ear, laughing that deep hearty laugh, and being the life of the party with everyone that is there. Thanks for the . . . "everything", Uncle Bob.
Love You, Aunt Joyce and Uncle Gary

Bob was one of those people who really brought sunshine and laughter into a room. I will always remember Kathy telling me that when she moved to Mexico, she wanted only three things out of life. Two I've forgotten, but the most important was Bob. I think they had more fun in the time they shared in San Miguel than most people get in an entire lifetime and I'm glad to have known Bob if only for a little while.

Bob and Kathy were my neighbors in San Miguel and my first friends that make there.
We lived in the same condo complex and in the evening I could hear them laughing together ...enjoying each others company. It's one of my fondest memories of getting to know this wonderful couple.
Bob was a kind soul with a big heart and a beautiful smile... that always made me feel welcome and loved.
I always felt at home with Bob and Kathy. We all shared some wonderful meals together and great conversation.
Bob felt like family and I will miss Bob deeply.
I'm grateful that he touched my life. George

I wish words could express how deeply sad we felt of Bob's passing. His smile, laughter and joy was felt by everyone who knew or met him for the first time. He was known in my house as Barber Bob Brown and made haircuts fun for my boy, Hopper. No one else would do. The memories of Bob will always be with us.

Bob and Cathy have been my next door neighbors ever since they moved to our Condo in San Miguel several years ago. We'll all miss Bob's ever-present, joyous personality, sense of humor and generosity. In the time they have lived in San Miguel, Bob and Cathy have made more friends than many people have in a lifetime. From his work with the Lions Club to help dispense eyeglasses to needy Mexicans, to his making sure that our Condo gardener was always supplied with his famous chocolate chip cookies, Bob shared his joy of living in San Miguel with everyone he knew. RIP Bob. You can be sure that we'll all do our best to help Cathy through this difficult time.
