Richard Wenzel Obituary
Richard 'Rich' H. Wenzel, 68 years old, passed away in Lawrence, Tuesday, November 18th after a lengthy illness. Rich leaves behind his daughter and grandson, Jeannine Wenzel Brown and Kai of Portland, OR, son Matthew Wenzel of Mission, KS, and brothers Bruce, Judd and Scott (Martha) of Lawrence. Rich was a stalwart supporter of the earth and it's peoples and will be missed by many, especially his community garden friends. Memorials can be made to the City of Lawrence Common Ground Community Garden Program. I remember well the trip Rich, Michael and I made to the Renewable Energy Fair in Wisconsin many years ago.
I'll also remember his dedication to making a better world for the generations yet to come.

Richard and I grew up as neighbors on Tennessee and Ohio Streets and as classmates. I had no idea he was nearby in Eugene. A Good Guy, indeed.

Rich was a good and thoughtful person. His activism and commitment to social and environmental justice were his gifts to us and they live on. He will be missed.

Rich loved the outdoors, renewable energy, music, and a good laugh. His smile was contagious! He showed me kindness over the 25+ years I was fortunate to know him. I'm thinking of all of his family and friends.
