Richard C. Walter

Richard C. Walter, 88, Lecompton, passed away Thursday, September 26th with his family by his side.

He was born April 24, 1925 to Joseph and Susanna (Grauel) Walter. He married Alta Kampschroeder September 14, 1946.

He is survived by his wife and seven children, Rosalee Neibarger, Mike (Connie) Walter, Tim Walter, Marlene (Bob) Swaggerty, Jackie (Joe) Gieseke, Monica (Ken) Davidson and Brian (Debbie) Walter, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Perry, KS on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Big Springs, KS.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the Lecompton Historical Society, Douglas County Hospice or St. Theresa's Building Fund and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
