I am so sorry that Rick has died. I expected him to live forever with his energy and intellect. I knew him at Wilberforce.

Just found out that Rick passed away last summer.
So very much ~ Gone Too Soon.
Rick was one of the sweetest, kindest, most positive and most thoughtful people I've known. I was very impressed with Rick's intellect, curiosity and sense of fun. We had good times going out to see live music, dancing and hanging out with friends some years ago when he lived here in Madison, WI.
Was happy to meet Kimberly on their visit here a while ago.
If there is a heaven he is there there singing with the ~ other angels.
Blessing your memory. Brandy Larson

Sending my condolences to his wife Kimberly and family. I am genuinely shocked and saddened to come across this news today. Rick was a gentleman and a kind soul who loved life. My mother and i met Rick in Lourdes, France (I think it was around 2006/8?) and had stayed in touch occasionally on Facebook. Love and blessings to you all from England, UK.

My son and I have known Richard as a friend for about thirty years. I'll always remember him for his kindness, generosity of spirit, and curiosity. His smile could light up a room. Richard truly had a heart for those less fortunate than he himself and he put those sentiments into action. We are especially thinking of his wife, Kimberly, mother, Audrey, and sister, Margaret at this time of loss.

So sorry for Richard's passing; Rick, you left the earth too soon. But you were in robust health most of your life -- outran me on the tennis court, went to Red Dog days at
6 am. We all love you; you are in a place no illness can touch. Much love to the family.

It must have been the early to mid ´80s when I met Rick. Right away I asked him if he was related to my economics prof at KU. "Yah, that´s my dad." And I took the liberty to go on a bit about how much I enjoyed his microeconomics class, and the assigned readings from Shumacher´s Small is Beautiful.
Ever since our first meeting we were friends and always found the time to stay in touch. Most recently, Rick would message me when he was planning to be in town (Lawrence), and we would meet up at the public library, or somewhere to grab a bite and some coffee.
So Rick´s passing has caught me a bit by surprise. My condolences go to Kimberly and Margaret and, of course his mom too. A sad loss for the community.

I was very surprised to see Rick's obituary today. I knew Rick before he moved from Lawrence, and always enjoyed seeing him during his visits back to Lawrence. Rick was especially thoughtful and kind when a mutual friend of ours passed away about 10 years ago. Kimberly and Audrey, I'm sorry to learn of your loss, and I hope you are well.

I have many memories of Rick being present in many neighborhood and activities I was associated with back in the day through the Appropriate Technology Center. He was always a progressive voice in those days and am so glad he found his passions and able to enjoy his life in Colorado and points along the way. My condolences to the friends and family that he shared his life with.
