Raymond Lowe Obituary
Raymond O. Lowe, 89, of Oskaloosa, KS and previously of Basehor, KS. passed away on Sat. Nov. 29, 2014. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Tues. Dec. 2nd at the Elm Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening, Dec. 1st, also at the church. Memorial Contributions to the Elm Grove Baptist Church building fund in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Raymond was born on July 22, 1925 in Edwardsville, KS. and grew up in the Edwardsville area. He served in the U.S. Army, where he learned carpentry while building barracks in Korea during WWII. Upon returning from the service he married Blanch E. (Taylor) and they have been married 67 years. Together they have been longtime members of the Elm Grove Baptist Church. Raymond retired after 37 years with Simmons Mattress Company. In his retirement he enjoyed helping his son and grandson in their Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings. Raymond is survived by his wife Blanch E. Lowe of the home, two children Donald R. Lowe and wife Deborah of Oakaloosa, KS., Sandra S. Trowbridge and husband James of Tonganoxie, KS., six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
